From Oswald Chambers' daily devotional, My Utmost For His Highest, on March 23, comes an entry about being carnally minded. He uses the scriptures: "Where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal…?" (1 Corinthians 3:3). "Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16).

You can read the full entry here: https://utmost.org/updated/am-i-carnally-minded/. There, Chambers addresses the moment of conviction when God shines a light on us and exposes things that are carnal or the ways of the flesh. He poses a very important question. When God brings His light, do we fight against it and try to justify or explain ourselves or do we simply "accept the light of the truth" and repent.

The truth that Chambers explains is that God is not asking us to fix ourselves, but to accept the light of His truth, repent and allow God to deal with us. This brings a sanctification that is necessary if we are to walk in the light and truly understand God's heart for the church. We will note major changes in our lives, not by fixing ourselves, but by surrendering to His light. So, I would simply encourage you to read that entry from Chambers and consider the light of God and how you react when He lovingly brings conviction to your heart.
