Notes - Are We in a Time of Peace or a Time of War?
Friday Night Gatherings
Friday Night Gathering Message Notes | 6-19-26
Spiritually speaking, are we in a time of peace or a time of war? Think about that.
Satan wants us to think we’re in a time of peace and we have no enemy. But we are at war, and we have an enemy. Revelation 12:9 “…the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world…”
There is a false sentiment of spiritual peacetime that is one of Satan’s greatest deceptions over the world, and one of the greatest temptations that Christians fall into.
The deception is: there is no war, and a Christian should do whatever is “…right in his own eyes.” (Judges 17:6, 21:25)
The REALITY of the battle.
Revelation 12. What do you learn about the battle and our enemy? This is reality.
Ephesians 6:10-20. Satan and dark forces. Fight with truth, righteousness, gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the word of God, prayer - be alert in prayer!!!! Foundations.
Are we on the front lines of the battle? Or are we elsewhere on the battlefield, not really in the purpose that advances the war?
How do we engage in the battle?
Be prepared for battle and for Christ’s coming (yellow booklet). Foundations.
Follow what God wants (Mat 16), functioning/fitted into the body of Christ (Romans 12).
Healing open wounds. These are bitterness, offense, fear, crisis and sin.
We walk around with open wounds from the battle, poorly bandaged.
We try to take care of things ourselves with quick-fix spirituality or psychology.
But all this does is “manage the pain”.
And you can manage the pain, and you can heal superficially (Jer 6 and 8). But God wants to heal completely with spiritual open-heart surgery.
The battle is NOT in our mind. And it’s not with flesh and blood. The battle is with “…the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world…” (Rev 12:9).
The answer is always surrender to Jesus. Be ready for the battle by building strong foundations in Jesus. And be fitted into the body of Christ.
